The aim of the National Bowel Cancer Audit (NBOCA) is to measure the quality and outcomes of care for patients diagnosed for the first time with bowel cancer in NHS hospitals in England and Wales, to improve quality of care and outcomes. NBOCA’s Quality Improvement Plan sets out its five quality improvement priorities as follows:

- Improving perioperative care
- Improving oncological care
- Improving management of stage four disease
- Improving end of life care
